What do Coca Cola, Barclays Bank and MPM have in common? Answer: Sarah Wilder.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Sarah Wilder to our team here at MPM Legal as of July 4th 2016. With a highly impressive resume, Sarah’s experience will enhance the range of services we can offer our clients.
Sarah joins us from Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE), where she was the lead UK employment lawyer.  Reporting directly to the UK General Counsel, Sarah provided the full spectrum of employment law advice directly to HR and the business. During her time at CCE Sarah partnered extensively with her internal clients, achieving notable successes in employment tribunal litigation and restructuring projects which helped CCE save both time and money. She created new ways of working to enable her clients to become more ‘self-serving’, including creating a formal up-skilling programme for the business, HR and compliance on a range of employment law issues. Sarah’s experience means that she is well placed to support in-house legal teams or indeed businesses who do not have internal legal support by operating as an extension of internal legal or HR.
As VP at Barclays Bank PLC, Sarah supported various front and back office departments of the bank as the lead employment lawyer for the Retail Bank in the UK, before becoming head of Barclay’s employment litigation team. A previously outsourced service, Sarah brought the majority of Barclays tribunal claims back in-house, where she created a clear end to end process that provided the business with close partnering on each claim. Offering a strategic overview of employment litigation in the UK, enabled the business to take a pro-active approach to reduce future litigation. Excellent experience to draw on if you are ever thinking of building or changing an in-house team.
Earlier in her career, Sarah worked in private practice in the City, where she supported clients from a wide range of industries and sectors. Sarah can offer practical, commercial advice via the more traditional external lawyer/client relationship and is well versed in providing support on employment issues including drafting contracts, HR policies, compromise agreements, redundancies, holiday pay and performance management. Sarah has a particular interest in gender diversity and has been following the development of the gender pay reporting regulations with interest, so if this is something that is causing your business concern, let Sarah help you cut through the noise and address this issue with confidence.
Sarah is a self-confessed legal nerd, with a passion not only for excellent client service, but also for the academic side of the law.  She will be using these skills to contribute to our newsletter and webinars and is also happy to discuss your bespoke client training needs.  If you would like to join our distribution list, please click here.
